Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 6, 2026
Welcome to Docuul (the “Service”, the “Application”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website docuul.com and all of its tools. By accessing the Service, uploading or processing a file, or using any feature, you represent that you have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy without reservation. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Nature of the Service
Docuul is an application that runs entirely in the user’s browser. Processing of PDF files —including editing, compression, splitting, merging, password encryption, decryption, redaction and text removal— happens locally on your device. Except for features expressly identified as server-based (for example, conversion to Word, which uses a third-party provider), your files are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree NOT to:
- process documents over which you have no rights or authorization;
- circumvent, remove or alter protection measures of third-party documents without legitimate authorization;
- use the Service to infringe intellectual property, privacy or any other rights;
- upload illegal, defamatory content or content that violates applicable law;
- attempt to damage, overload or compromise the security or operation of the Service.
You are solely and exclusively responsible for the files you process and for your use of the tools, including the PDF protect and unlock features.
3. Encryption and unlock features
The protect tool applies standard PDF encryption (RC4 128-bit) in your browser. This mechanism is an access-control measure under the PDF specification and does not constitute military-grade encryption nor a guarantee of cryptographic secrecy against determined attackers. The unlock feature decrypts documents only when the user provides the correct password and represents that they are entitled to do so.
Password management and custody are the exclusive responsibility of the user. If you forget or lose a password, the document may become unrecoverable. We have no recovery mechanism, backdoor or copy of your passwords or files.
4. No warranties (“as is”)
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that processing output will be accurate or reliable, or that generated files will be compatible with all third-party software.
5. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL DOCUUL, ITS OWNERS, CONTRIBUTORS OR PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, FILES, PASSWORDS, PROFITS, GOODWILL OR ACCESS TO DOCUMENTS, ARISING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain liabilities, our liability shall be limited to the minimum permitted by law and, in any case, shall not exceed zero (US$0.00), as this is a free service.
6. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Docuul harmless from any claim, demand, damage, loss, cost or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) the files you process; (iii) your breach of these Terms; or (iv) your violation of third-party rights.
7. Third-party advertising
The Service may display advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. Such third parties may use cookies and similar technologies under their own policies. The associated data processing is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
The software, design, trademarks and content of the Service are owned by Docuul or its licensors. You retain all rights to the files you process; we claim no ownership over them.
9. Changes and availability
We may modify these Terms or the Service at any time without prior notice. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law applicable at the domicile of the Service owner. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of that domicile, the parties waiving any other venue that might apply, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
